Cody Bridger

Well...this certainly was entertaining! It was lunch time for the young ones. Yeah...lunch time and the kiddos were wearing or painting with most of the food rather than eating it. Oh well...at least it was meat but why did there have to be gravy as well? The only bright side Cody could see to the situation was that it wasn't leftovers. Yesterday it had been vegetable soup. That had been a nightmare to clean up.

He rubbed at his face with both of his hands. Babysitting; making sure they all ate was one of several daily jobs that he had to do. It was all a part of his pack role as Omega. The babysitting part wasn't too bad, they weren't all that rambunctious...until meal time, that's when they were all seemingly bouncing off of the walls.

It was a little funny though, Cody remembered being that young but he never remembered being that active and crazy. When the meat started flying, Cody decided that meal time was over. Standing up from the chair he had been sitting in, he quickly confiscated the plates and the bits of food still left, taking all of that to the kitchen before returning. Getting the kiddos cleaned up was a bit of a hassle; they all needed baths and clean clothes but once it was done all of the kids were ready to sleep, for that he was glad.

They went to bed without much of a fight and within thirty minutes they were all sound asleep. Leaving them, Cody walked down the hall knowing that they were no longer his responsibility for the rest of the day. A storm was coming in so leaving the grounds wasn't a good idea. Hmm...what else could be done?

The others were more than likely located in the game room. A quick walk past the room and the sound of multiple voices echoing from it confirmed his suspicions. He heard two voices call out to him, inviting him in for a game of pool but he ignored the invitation and kept on going. Pool was fun when there was no cheating involved. More often than not Cody had to contend with his pool stick being tapped at the last minute or someone's hands physically blocking the pocket he was aiming for. It was all in good fun; he knew that but it did get annoying.

Cody went to his room; it was the only bedroom that was on the opposite side of the second floor, away from all of the others. This wasn't done because of his position, it had actually been done at his own request. Memories of constant talking and loud music came to mind and suddenly he remembered why he had requested to move in to the room on the opposite side of the floor. Peace and quiet!

As he rounded the corner he spotted Gwennan, the pack Beta heading in his general direction. Damn, he would have to pass her in order to get to his room. He had nothing against Gwen and in fact she was the only female that he truly held any respect for, he just hated being assigned last minute jobs. The moment passed and Cody kept walking. When he was close enough he respectfully nodded his head at Gwen, offering a small “Hi,” as well.

A sigh escaped Gwen's puckered lips as she assessed the situation she was in right now. She had multiple things to do today and had no one around to help her, as Julius was busy with his own duties and everyone else had their own. So, if anyone had been paying attention to her at all today, they would have noticed her running around like a chicken with its head cut off. Of course that wasn't something new for Gwen, she'd been doing that since before becoming beta. Of course now she was finished with whatever she needed done for the day, and couldn't find anyone remotely civilized to hang out with, which included Cody. She'd nearly skipped down to his room, hoping he'd be there because she was craving some quiet fun. Cody was definitely not annoying compared to the rest of the omega's who constantly complained about their chores. Cody did his, and he did them right, and for that she appreciated him.
